The Visionary Lab unveiled new additions to Icons Re/Outfitted, breathing new life into pre-used chairs from Vitra with discarded denim from Levi’s.

Exhibition & Live-Performance in MOCO Museum

Together with dancer/Syrian refugee Ahmad Joudeh and magazine L’OFFICIEL, we raised awareness for the tribulations of refugees by presenting Joudeh’s extraordinary story in photo, video and written word and by organizing an expo and a poignant dance performance in the garden of the Moco Museum in Amsterdam.

Fashion
made from waste

A creative project with Senegalese fashion designer Oumou Sy for platform 4:Africa, under auspicious of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Sy makes use of materials from a variety of sources, ranging from urban garbage - such as used baskets, guitars and cd’s - to highly sophisticated fabrics.


Ubuntu Streetkids Foundation: children photograph their own lives

We invited local teenagers in township Blikkiesdorp, Cape Town to capture fragments of their lives with a disposable camera, giving an honest and true view into their harsh living conditions. Their photographes have been shown during an exhibition and auction in order to raise money and awareness for the Ubuntu Streetkids Foundation.

DENIM FOR EARTH: FROM DENIM WASTE TO COUTURE

Denim for Earth is a creative concept introduced by The Visionary Lab. It was developed to raise awareness to the issue of denim waste. In collaboration with fashion designers and artists The Visionary Lab created upcycled couture made out of denim waste from G-STAR RAW. The collection has been showcased in the online gallery of FOAM Museum, MOCO Museum and in an open-air exhibition at the Rembrandt Square in Amsterdam.

In order to increase HIV awareness Belgium designers created a unique denim collection. For the magazine 4: AFRICA, published under the auspicious of the International Committee of the Red Cross topmodel Alek Wek was wearing the customized denim outfits, photographed by Michel Comte.
